Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child wear a school uniform?

Due to the nature of learning opportunities and seamless access to the indoor and outdoor learning environment your child will be expected to wear comfortable black joggers or leggings, black shoes and trainers are preferred and ‘The Nursery at Bengeworth CE Academy’ polo shirt and jumper or cardigan. These will be available from The School Shop, Evesham at a reasonable cost. You may also wish to purchase our branded backpack.  As your child will be outside in all weather conditions, wellies, a waterproof coat and a change of clothing will be required. Your child will also need a named water bottle.

What will my child eat and drink?

During each session your child will be offered a delicious nutritional snack and drink that will be carefully selected by our kitchen staff to ensure it meets the nutritional needs of your child as well as introduce them to a variety of foods. This will include seasonal fruit and vegetables, home cooked snacks such as flapjacks which the children will experience cooking themselves, served alongside water or milk.

A two course meal will be provided for those who stay for lunch and will be cooked and served by our wonderful Kitchen Team in the comfort of the nursery itself. Our nursery children will be able to select their own food, supported and encouraged by our team to try and explore new food choices.

Further information and example menus can be found here

What happens if I am late picking up my child?

Should you be late collecting or dropping your child off please contact the school office to inform us of your estimated time of arrival. A late pickup fee of £5 may be charged depending on your arrival time. Should you be late collecting your child at the end of the day (3.30pm), they will join Night Owls and you will be charged the hourly rate of Night Owls as identified here.

How can I book additional sessions?

Additional sessions can only be booked by contacting the Burford Road office, where Miss West can confirm if space is available in the desired sessions.  We understand that additional sessions may be needed at short notice and will endeavour to accommodate this where possible.

Can my child attend another setting, and what is the notice period?

Should you wish for your child to attend another setting in addition to The Nursery this should be clearly stated on the Parent Declaration Form when applying for 15 hour (30 hours if eligible) funding and your child’s space at The Nursery. A new declaration form must be completed if your child starts attending a new setting or changes the number of hours at any setting - this is a condition of claiming Nursery Education Funding from Worcestershire County Council.

Cancelling or terminating your child’s space at The Nursery should be discussed in the first instance with the Early Years Leads or a member of the Leadership Team, so root causes can be identified and discussed. Parents may terminate their child’s space in writing with at least one month's notice.
